High in the mountains of Ethiopia’s Sidama region, the village of Durato sits along the slopes of Bombe Mountain, where coffee is cultivated at elevations around 2,050 meters. Following harvest, the coffee cherries are delivered to the Kontama mill, where they are carefully sun-dried whole on raised beds for 10–15 days. Under equatorial sun, the traditional natural process allows the fruit to remain in contact with the seed throughout drying, compounding sweetness and complexity. The result is an expressive, fruit-forward coffee with vibrant notes of lemon crème, strawberry, and kiwi.
