What You’ll Need:
- Aeropress
- Water just off the boil
- Spoon
- Swing’s Coffee, ground medium
- Scale
- Cup
Aeropress is a quick and convenient method to brew a smooth cup of coffee with minimal cleanup. It is also relatively inexpensive and comes in a variety of shapes and sizes to fit your needs. Here's how to brew:
- Heat water in kettle.
- Pull Aeropress plunger out completely from the chamber.
- Wet paper filter until completely damp and place into filter cap. Twist filter cap into chamber.
- Place chamber on mouth of mug securely. Add 16-18 grams of medium ground coffee.
- Shake coffee gently to level and then pour water up to highest number marking on the chamber, typically 3 or 4.
- Use spoon to gently stir coffee and water together.
- Insert plunger 1/2 an inch into the chamber then pull up gently to create a vacuum effect.
- After 60 seconds, press the plunger down with constant pressure, firmly but gently. You will notice the brewing has finished once you can no longer hear air leaving the chamber.
- Clean the Aeropress and dispose of used coffee. Your cup of coffee is ready to enjoy!
